Apollo was often called Phoebus which means ‘shining’ as in some Greek cities he was worshipped as god of the Sun. Apollo was similar to his twin sister Artemis in many ways, the both protected animals, for Apollo this was especially sheep and goats, and they both had the power to heal or do harm. At Mount Parnassus there were nine Muses, they were all beautiful goddesses who spent their time enjoying music, poetry and dancing along with many other arts. It was said that Apollo liked to divide his time at Mount Olympus to go and visit the nine Muses on Mount Parnassus.
